Tap "Hint" on the Clue Board. It tells you who to talk to next, or which two clues are worth comparing. Using any hint caps your grade for the case at B. It asks before the first one.
You can't miss a clue by picking the "wrong" reply: the reply options in the same conversation give the same clues and differ only in tone.
Chapter 1 is playable in full. When you finish it, tap "Next Chapter" and the purchase screen appears. It's a single one-time purchase with no subscription and nothing else to buy.
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with, then tap "Restore Purchases". It's on the purchase screen, and also under the "⋯" menu › About & Privacy. This also works on a new iPhone.
Progress is saved only on your iPhone, so deleting the app deletes it. Your purchase isn't lost: it comes back automatically when you reinstall. Play through Chapter 1 again and "Next Chapter" goes straight on.
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Open the "⋯" menu on the case list, choose Language, and pick 简体中文, 繁體中文 or English. Your progress is kept. You can also change it in iOS Settings › Nightlamp › Language.
Yes. The whole game plays offline. Buying and restoring the purchase need a connection.
Open the Detective Report and tap "Play Again". This erases your progress for the case; anything you bought stays unlocked.
The story is fiction, and Chapter 2 deals with suicide. If that is hard for you, or you are going through a difficult time yourself, please look after yourself first.
